Q: How accurate is the token count?

For GPT-4o, GPT-4 Turbo and Claude (which use the cl100k_base / o200k_base tokenizers) the count is exact — we load gpt-tokenizer in your browser and run the real BPE encoder. For Gemini, Llama and Mistral we use the published character-to-token ratio from their respective papers, which is within ±10%.

Q: Why is my Claude token count slightly different from the Anthropic console?

Claude uses a proprietary tokenizer that Anthropic hasn't fully open-sourced. We use cl100k_base as a high-fidelity approximation (the most accurate public option). Differences are typically under 5% for English text. For exact counts on production traffic, use Anthropic's `messages.count_tokens` endpoint.

Q: Do the costs include cache discounts or batch pricing?

No — the displayed cost is the full list price. To get the cached price, multiply input cost by 0.10 (Anthropic prompt caching is 90% off cached reads). For the Batch API, divide total cost by 2 (50% discount, results within 24h). We'll add toggles for these soon.
