How to use the MCP Configuration Linter

Select the configuration profile, paste strict JSON and run checks. Review command/URL transport errors and warnings for fields this linter does not check.

Supported checks and limits

Checks server objects, command versus URL transport, string arguments, environment/header maps and selected credential indicators. It does not execute commands, resolve variables, install servers or test connectivity. Extension fields are warnings, not claims of invalidity. JSONC comments and trailing commas are not accepted.

Up to 100,000 characters and 40 nesting levels. Tool/configuration checks accept up to 100 definitions. Processing stops after three seconds and reports at most 200 findings. YAML aliases and shared objects are unsupported.

Privacy and report handling
